The latest from our class Instagram account - On-demand Write (I like Fall because...)

This week, all of the students at BWCS spent time writing about a specific topic (K-5 were given one topic, while 6-8 students were given another). Our topic was ‘I like Fall because...’, and students were given two 30-minute sessions to write and edit their pieces. I always love seeing the students progress throughout the year (they do writing like this in the Fall, Winter, and Spring) as writers - watching their growth is one of my favourite parts of this job. 😊 via Instagram http://ift.tt/2xkSQfn

The latest from our class Instagram account - Outdoor Learning (building stamina)

For our Outdoor Learning time with Ms. Petersen’s class today, we stayed out after recess playing freeze tag and 4-Square. We are working on building up the students’ stamina to stay outside in cooler conditions - today they were outside for 45 minutes straight, and there wasn’t one complaint from anyone about being too cold! #LoveNature via Instagram http://ift.tt/2y2kS3F

The latest from our class Instagram account - Outdoor Learning (windy!)

Yesterday, we had our Outdoor learning time with Ms. Petersen’s class. It was quite something, as the winds were gusting up to 90 km/h! The kids had fun writing with chalk, and also seeing how the leaves behaved in the wind, which differed depending on what part of the building/school yard the students were located. #latergram via Instagram http://ift.tt/2zBDhS7

The latest from our class Instagram account - Outdoor Learning (compasses and directions)

We had fun with compasses outside today when we had our Outdoor Learning time with Ms. Petersen's class. We did two stations - one where we played Compassball (it's like basketball, but using compass directions), and one where you held a compass and you used it to direct yourself to North, South, East, and West. After we finished these, we did a Compass Run (kind of like the game Ship To Shore, but using the directions to know where to run). - Spencer, Udit, Katelyn, Addison O., Addison C., and Jason via Instagram http://ift.tt/2xjGfNw
