As we blogged about yesterday, we've been talking about random acts of kindness in our classroom. Today, the class decided to brighten the day of the adults in our school, by making cards of appreciation, and handing them out to the staff, complete with a little something sweet! The students who passed them out said that it was great to see the reaction of the recipients of these, which included a lot of smiles, 'thank you's, and even a hug or two! The students in the class also commented on how good it felt to do something nice for someone else, especially when it was unexpected! It's days like this (even though it was indoor recess AGAIN!) that make me glad that I'm a teacher!

Hello Room 18! You sure made my day today! I wasn't expecting any kindnesses to come my way when I was stapling up our non-fiction facts on the school bulletin board. I remember my stapler was not cooperating all that well... and then I turned around and "voila!," there came some smiling students approaching me with kind words and a delightful surprise! Suddenly my stapler problem just vanished from my mind. All I could think about was "How nice was that!" and "Those students are so great!" Thanks for spreading your wonderful kindness all over our school. You really made a difference in my day.
:-) Mrs. Sokoloff
