We are a Grade 3 classroom at Bernie Wolfe Community School in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. We are excited to share what's going on in our classroom with all of our readers!
Ms. Bussoli (who’s here until Christmas break for her first teaching block - yay!) has started a Social Studies cultural research project with the students - they are so excited! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2njugem
We had a great afternoon today taking part in the ‘Chef for a Day’. Thanks to the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, I️ was provided with recipes and gift cards to go and buy the groceries for today’s lesson, where we talked about the importance of eating enough fruits and vegetables, and how easy and delicious it can be! Thanks to the CPMA for providing the recipes and the gift cards to go shopping for all of the amazing ingredients! A big thanks, as well, to Katelyn’s mom for coming in and helping us this afternoon, and to our student teacher Ms. Bussoli, for taking some of the photos! #halfyourplate #Freggie via Instagram http://ift.tt/2jc7Y93
Day 5 means ending the day with time spent outside with our friends from Ms. Petersen’s Grade 1 class. As it was Friday afternoon, we decided to end our week with time to play on the structure/swings. It was great to see everyone so well-dressed for the weather - not one student complained about the temperature! #LoveNature via Instagram http://ift.tt/2ySGsDV
This brave student volunteered to demonstrate the effect of the force of gravity for the rest of the class - great job! Science! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2zbgxM4
This afternoon, we went outside in the back field with Ms. Petersen’s class for outdoor learning. We made designs in the snow (like snow angels, hearts, smiley faces) and spelled words. It was a bit chilly, but we had lots of fun. We have snow way earlier this year than last year - it’s awesome! - Katelyn, Addison C., Addison O., Spencer, Udit, Jason via Instagram http://ift.tt/2hWLJUC
Lately, we’ve been talking about equality in Math and what the equal sign really means - yesterday’s challenge was to create number sentences equaling the number of the day (43), and if they felt comfortable, to also put in friendly number (underlined in red) or doubles (underlined in green) facts. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2m5XxZ8
Great work by the students over the last couple of days to reorganize our classroom library - it was a big job, but they were up for the challenge. It’s going to be so much easier for them now to find the kind of books they’re looking for (make sure to zoom in for the full picture)! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2A531pg
Today’s number sentence challenge: create a number sentence for the number 39, which includes at least one set of ‘friendly numbers’ (pairs of numbers that add up to make 10). Every number sentence had at least one or more, and one even had five pairs of friendly numbers! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2h8kNUB
Ms. Petersen’s class was unable to join us outside today, but we went out to clean up the school yard. We collected 7 bags of stuff from the schoolyard, and then brought it in and separated it into garbage and recycling. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2yodLT4
