30x30 Nature Challenge invitation

Our class, along with Ms. Petersen's Grade 2 class, is once again participating in the David Suzuki Foundation's 30x30 Nature Challenge (30x30.davidsuzuki.org/), which encourages people to get outside for an extra 30 minutes a day in the month of May. Our classes brainstormed different activities we like to do outside, and then the students wrote a sentence or two about their outdoor activity. Once that was done, they collected props and we filmed them in front of a green screen with a photo that they selected as their background. We hope you enjoy our video... and that you join us in getting outside more in the month of May!

The latest from our class Instagram account - BWCS's newest employee

At our assembly this morning, we met Coral. Coral is the newest employee at our school. She is working full-time in one of the Grade 1 classes, where she helps one of the students, and today was her first day on the job! We learned that because she is working, we are not to (1) pet or touch her, (2) feed her, or (3) call her name. If we were to do those things, it would distract her from doing her job of helping the student. It was nice to hear that after a long day of work, she will get to 'be a dog' at home, where she'll be able to run and play a lot, and get plenty of affection from her family! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2nbadhv
