Today, we started talking about commutative property, and the students were challenged to create at least one number sentence that (a) had at least two equal signs, (b) had multiplication facts (that weren't 1x_ or _x1), and (c) showed commutative property with multiplication. 14 out of the 21 students that were here today were able to meet all the criteria... on the first day of working with this concept!
