We are a Grade 3 classroom at Bernie Wolfe Community School in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. We are excited to share what's going on in our classroom with all of our readers!
Tip-off of the Students vs. Staff basketball game - what a great way to finish off school before spring break! I hope everyone has a great week - see you in April! via Instagram http://ift.tt/22yvwrE
A malfunctioning fire alarm caused a little bit of surprise excitement this afternoon. I was super-impressed with both how quickly and calmly the kids made it out, and with how super-fast the fire department came! via Instagram http://ift.tt/1UGTj3F
Today was 'Trash to Class/Rags to Riches Day' for Spirit Week - Grade 3A/3B was looking sharp, as Ms. Andrews and Ms. Fazenda created some lovely outfits out of garbage bags, while I classed things up with my Blue Bombers knickerbockers. The students had some great outfits, too - looking forward to seeing what they come up tomorrow for 'Rocker/Rapper/Country Day'. via Instagram http://ift.tt/22uLgMl
Using Numbler to practice Math skills (specifically, using multiple equal signs in an equation) - I'm looking forward to seeing the students use this app to wow their parents at student-led conferences tomorrow! via Instagram http://ift.tt/1RmEZqr
We were making bridges with toothpicks and marshmallows. We learned that triangles are stronger than squares. The bridge with the triangles on the sides was the strongest. When triangles are in bridges they are called trusses. - Mikaela, Alex, Riley, Cayden, Tom, Heldana via Instagram http://ift.tt/1pgMLMC
Another marshmallow design challenge - after talking about what made towers and bridges strong, their structures were much taller/stronger today! via Instagram http://ift.tt/1TflnuH
Today in Science: as part of our Structures and Materials unit, each table group was given 50 mini marshmallows and 100 toothpicks, and challenged to see what they could come up with. Lots of fun, learning, and teamwork was happening this afternoon! via Instagram http://ift.tt/1oZRzWs
